About

The Project

Along with our many unique and distinctive resources, Newcastle University Library's Special Collections & Archives holds much of the documented memory of the university. This includes an almost full run of The Courier from its inception in 1948. That's 1,155 issues and 17,500 pages of university history!

But we didn't want to keep this to ourselves...

In 2015, with help from our friends at Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland Archives, we digitised and made this archive fully searchable. We now make them available to you through this site, with thanks to our Digital Library Services team.

About Northumberland Archives

The digitisation of 'The Courier' was undertaken by the Reprographics Team at Northumberland Archives. The team have undertaken external digitisation work for cultural organisations, museums and universities across the north-east of England and beyond. To discuss any potential digitisation projects with them, contact reprographics@woodhorn.org.uk.
